Whew! They are done and despite the fact that I made so little money last year, I still owed. Dangit! Oh well, it is just money and life goes on! I'm so glad to have that done.

Congratulations on finishing your taxes, and with two days to spare too. Here's an interesting fact... Normally taxes are due on April 15th, but this year the 15th is a Sunday and the post office is closed. The reason why they are not due until the 17th is that the 16th is "Emancipation Day" in Washington DC to commemorate the day in 1862 when Lincoln ended slavery in DC. So the 16th is a holiday in DC which applies to the IRS as well. Just FYI :)

Very interesting-I was wondering about the 16th. I wish I lived in DC. Now why does only DC celebrate it? Do you get the day off, too?
