So, I've decided that one of the best ways for me to remember books that I have read is to write a short blog about them. Recently, I have ACTUALLY finished two books completely, which is rather an accomplishment for me. There are a few books around that I have been reading for 2 years or more...and I want to finish them but I either find them dense and need to process little by little, or they are more of the devotional type, or more likely, I become distracted by another "more interesting topic/book".
I think this blog might be hard to write with the music that I am listening to - "I guess I'll forget the sound, I guess, I guess" by Bodies of Water. I found their music on emusic.com, with whom(?) I have a monthly subscription, which I try to remember to shut down every month...not because I don't like the service...but do I really need the equivalent of 2-3 CDs new every month? And I could use that $10 for something else...but I always forget.
So, back to my book. French Women Don't Get Fat. Particularly like American women do.
Well, so I actually liked the book - it was like Peter Mayle meet pastoralist writer with recipes included. It was like having a sophisticated french auntie to guide you along...knowing your foibles and distaste of exercise. While I would like to use some of the recipes and I wish to God that I could enjoy her mother's farm and food, the book actually offered a lot of grace for individuals like me who are not particularly driven in the athletic department, preferring champagne and good food to strenuous exercise. However, the implemention of regular gentle everyday type of exercise is a little more complicated to achieve, as well is the time to cook nutritious food.
Oh well...maybe I can live a slower life some day...for the moment, I can enjoy my water.
